Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort

 

Set in its own picturesque 360 acre estate, the Penina resort offers three golf courses designed by Sir Henry Cotton. There are also floodlit tennis courts, the "Penguin Village" children's club (seasonal) and evening entertainment. At the beach area, which has its own Clubhouse and shuttle bus service, you can enjoy a variety of water-sports in the summer (June-September).

Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resortis unique in the Algarve, where guests can step out of the hotel and start to play on its three courses. The 18-holeChampionship Golf Course, designed by Sir Henry Cotton, is considered his masterpiece and it is indeed a remarkable achievement. The hotel and golf club are unique when it comes to outstanding views, a calm and tranquil setting, and shows nature at its best. The golf club is a member of the Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary System.

There is a host of leisure activities and facilities available, including a fully equipped Health Centre.

There are a variety of rooms on offer:
Standard- air conditioning, mountain view, satellite television, mini-bar, safe and hairdryer. With a view over Resort Course or the Monchique Mountains.
Superior- have views over the pool and Championship Golf Course. All superior rooms have private balconies in addition to air conditioning, satellite television, mini-bar, safe and hairdryer.
Studio- pool view rooms, but consisting of a split level bedroom/sitting room. All are on the 4th floor.
JuniorSuites - overlooking pool and Championship Golf Course and consisting of twin bedded room with separate lounge, satellite television, mini-bar, balcony, air conditioning, safe and hairdryer.
GrandSuites - these are sold as one or two bedded, as junior Suites, but with one or two twin bedrooms and two or four bathrooms. The lounge is very much larger than Junior Suite lounges.
Extrabeds - only applicable to children aged up to 11 years inclusive. Standard and pool view bedrooms can take one extra bed only which will be free on bed and breakfast basis Junior and Grand Suites can take two extra beds which will be free on bed and breakfast basis.
Disabled- all bedrooms are adapted for the disabled, in terms of wide doorways, wide rooms, etc. (there are no bedrooms on the ground floor). Bedrooms are not adapted to wheelchair bound persons. There are ramps to the hotel entrance and around the hotel and grounds. All the hotels doors are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. In the public areas there are also toilets adapted for the disabled.

Restaurants and Bars
A choice of 5 restaurants serve Portuguese, Italian and International cuisine, and the four bars offer a choice of refreshments, snacks and cocktails. Children's menus, barbecues theme evenings and formal dinners are all available.
